International Wave of Light Candlelight Vigil

On October 15, families around the world will be lighting candles at 7:00 pm in honor of their babies.

As this Wave of Light spreads around the globe, we have the opportunity here in Portland to join with others who grieve, remember and hope for reunion in the world to come.

6:45 pm Service of Consolation

7:00 pm Candle Lighting and Memorial Service

7:15 pm Fellowship and Discussion about our role as keepers of the memory and about practical ways to support and help grieving parents in their journey toward healing.  We’ll focus on Naming the Child: Hope-filled Reflections on Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Infant Death, a book (and website) by author Matushka Jenny Schroedel.  (see: www.namingthechild.com)

We’ll be lighting candles in honor of each child remembered on this night.  If any of the babies does not yet have a name, just let us know and we’ll reserve a candle for him or her.
